Virginia is a young woman who’s involved in an emotionally abusive relationship. Edward, her lover, has a tendency to put her down often (without necessarily realizing it). Dealing with his own demons, he doesn’t always realize the implications of his own actions. Meeting a kindly but lonely old wino on the beach, she tries to find the courage to leave the relationship she's in, strike out on her own, and be her own person.
